The Storyteller's Daughter

Won't you see past my fake exterior,
And unmask who I am
Cause you came so close but I tripped at the finish line
And you lost interest in what I had to say
And I know you're sitting at home playing on your guitar
Writing more songs that are about me
Why can't you see that I'm reaching out my hand
And I want you to hang onto it
There are a thousand questions
I wanna ask you
Are you still the same guy that used to call me?
Won't you ever unmask me
And reveal me when you came so close to me
I can't believe that you would say that about me
When you broke me down and started to reveal me
For the person I am and the woman you made me into
You brought out the best in me
And I could never leave this place
Cause your memory still wanders here
Won't you ever see me again?
