MAKE A SPLASH - READ!
A Summer Reading Program for for Ages 3 - Grade 5
July 6th - August 7th, 2010

The love of reading is one of the best gifts you can give your child. Recent studies indicate that reading over the summer can not only help maintain, but actually increase, reading skills. That’s why the Moffat Library is offering “Make A Splash...READ.” The 2010 Summer Reading Program is a noncompetitive program for children ages 3—grade 5 that encourages the enjoyment of books and libraries all summer long. The program begins July 6th. Children are encouraged to read or listen to at least one book each week for five weeks. They may write a report (forms are provided), draw a picture or talk with our teenage volunteers about the books they have read or listened to. Participants will receive a reading log to record their books and incentives to keep them reading. Special programs will include crafts, games, contests, parties, special guests, book discussions, AND lots of free stuff! Fireflies (Preschool & K) & Crickets (Grades 1-5) must have read (or listened to) and reported on at least 5 books in order to receive a certificate and gift bag. Certificates & bags may be picked up August 14th through August 29th. Call 496-5483 for more info.
